The book shattering glass by Gail Giles is a brutal book about a friend that gets killed. He  is made popular by a group of friends that was always a little different towards him. He was different in a way that he was not alway the nicest person until they had time to take him and try to make him a popular person.

In this book you will find that there are brutal things that happen, and they happen to a kid named Simon. Simon became popular by having someone else help him out in a way. Simon changed how he acted with other people. He became more social. Simon was a little more sociable and was more friendly with the other people that he was around.

My favorite part of the book was in the middle when Simon was being told that he was going to be made the person that was the class favorite. It was interesting to see that one person was willing to help him and be really nice about it. It was nice to see that the one person that is at the lowest rung of the social ladder and help them make it to the toward the top in there last year of high school.

If you like mysteries, you will like the book because the ending leaves you hanging. I recommend this book to anyone who likes a cliff hanger ending book. This book leaves you hanging in the end with the was that they end it. You are left wondering is there going to be another book or is there another book.
