John Green’s novel, Paper Towns, is an excellent read. It is full of excitement which keeps you on your toes. Green has been known to keep you on your toes when reading. Paper Towns is a mystery with lots of excitement leading up to the climax. John Green makes this book hard to put down and makes you want to read more of his novels.
Quentin (Q) is a senior in high school, and his neighbor Margo Roth Spiegelman has been his crush ever since they were 10 years old. Margo crawls in Q’s window one night and asks him to drive her around. They mess around at SeaWorld, getting back at people, and the next day Margo vanishes. Margo has been known to disappear and leave clues behind, but this time she left clues for Q. He used the clues, which led him closer and closer to find Margo, but he needed the help from his best friends along the way.

My favorite part of this book was when Q and his best friends went on a road trip looking for Margo. The clues led up to the roadtrip, and his friends sacrificed one of their biggest days for a great friend. For me, this shows how friends always come together even though big things are on the line.

The mystery and the excitement leading up to the climax made this such an interesting novel for me. It taught me how to stick together with friends and to never give up on your dreams.  That is why I would recommend anyone who likes action, mystery, or just a good read to enjoy Paper Towns by John Green.

I hope this inspires people to read this novel. I was inspired by my teacher Ms. Bahr to write this book review for my contemporary literature class.
