If you like reading about drama, romance, cancer or death, then i suggest The F… It List. You have two girls, Alex and Becca, who are best friends, Alex deals with a death in her family, while leading on to find out becca has slept with Alex’s boyfriend on the night of the funeral. Alex is all set to forgive Becca but only to realize Becca has cancer. Becca decides she wants to do something like a “buck it list” and intentionally call it “The F… it List” because of the idea of dying but still living all what she wanted to do. There is a lot of pop culture dropping, what with Alex’s love for horror movies and media, and even starring Becca in her first successful film. Alex also is growing love for a boy named Leo who she is very passionate with. But they all have a to contend with their grief at some point.

Alex finds out Becca has cancer. Becca has been writing a bucket list for awhile. Alex has no idea how anything will turn out, though she still hoped for the best. Alex attempts to complete the bucket list.  As the two of them work to check off the items on their list, they continue to stay connected and maintain their long lasting friendship along with the accomplishments of the bucket list.  Alex is trying really hard to understand herself, and why all these bad things are happening. But finding love seems to be something that helps. Alex taking her time

What i have learned is the author Julie Harplin explores a strained friendship strengthened by one girl’s battle with cancer. Also  sometimes it takes a bucket list to live, as in take risks, do things you have never done before, keep accomplish what was hard to start. A lot of bad can happen, a lot of misery, a lot of pain but still keep going.

I love the book, i would definitely rate a 4 out of 5. Just reading about Alex and Becca going through Becca having cancer and how they both were trying not to just face the fact that everything was all going wrong, but build off of these situations. They planned and worked their way to enjoy their senior year, yet they remain best friends. Overall, I think the book is great but lots of details and thoughts, a lot of self thoughts

As you read the book you really notice how much empathy and sympathy Alex has for the one’s she loves. She tries so hard to make it through the day without overthinking everything and just wondering why do these things even happen? Why is everyone around me dying either physically or emotionally, including herself. She does not talk to anyone, coping with her problems by herself. If you are struggling  with a close friendship, give this book a look. It really is remarkable how much happens and how they deal with it together. This book would give you a reminder on why you love your bestfriend so much, or just how you can relate. But read this book because it really makes you wonder why too.
