World War Z
By Max Brooks

There are many theories to how the war started. We always wonder what the truth is. I have interviewed survivors of the war. They told me that they found “Patient Zero”. They said that they were the Ministry of Health and that they would fix this. They failed to prevent this unforgettable, unforgiving, unrighteous, event of death and reanimation. There were Canadian special ops that found evidence of the infected in Kyrgyzstan. There was the “Great Panic” where people forgot what was morally wrong. Then there was the completion  of the “Jerusalem Wall”. Then “Yonkers” and it showed that the United States of America could not protect its citizens. Americans split into camps and other organizations. Others joined the military for payback, family, or even revenge. There was neighborhood patrols and self promoted officers. All of them were changed in the war, all in their own way.
If you are a fan of zombies then you will love World War Z. If you saw the movie World War Z then drop that and read the awesomeness of this book. The book has a lot of themes like friendship, passion, survival, and more. You also learn about yourself while reading it. For example, I found out that if I had hordes of infected, or “Zacks”, then I would run and gun rather than fight it. This is also one of the themes, survival. Then there is the outspread of genres. There is thrill, action, suspense, horror, and realistic fiction. These genres have a lot to do for this book. Especially action. There is a lot of violence and graphic imagery. Most authors and publishers like to keep their reputation “clean” by cutting anything that makes someone who is very sensitive feel “wrong,” but this book shows you the graphic images and the implied version of horror. That is one of the reasons why I truly love this book. Another reason why I absolutely love this book is because of the why how the characters tell their story. The book literally says on the front “An oral story of the zombie war.”. Then the book doesn’t bore you with culture but just enough culture to say that’s the place. There’s a lot of culture hidden and a lot of it is implied so you’re imagination guides you from there. In the end I really liked the book and enjoyed it a lot. It was full of horror, action, suspense, and survival and that’s what makes this book great.
