A small town mennonite girl, who is now facing troubles with her ex-husband who left her for a guy on gay.com. Janzen is in her early 40´s struggling with hard times, as she goes on with her life. She was sweet, beautiful, and so kind to everyone around her. Also with a great sense of humor.
Early in the book, she's out living life not worrying about the mennonite community, just wanting to find love and happiness. After she faces the hardship of the breakup, she is now wanting to go back to the mennonite community to focus on the good again. As i read this book i learned that a lot of girls are going through the same thing as Janzen. We all are trying to find love, and wanting to make it work for the rest of our lives. Instead of living to the fullest and focusing on other things. After Janzen got dumped for the other guy, she decided that she was going to start hurting others. Taking the guys out on dates, leading them on and then saying goodbye forever. Just so she can try to feel better, because she doesn't think she needs help.
My opinion on this book, is i liked it because i like reading about problems. I also like when people have problems and they overcome their problems, and turn out for the better.  Also it's basically like a solving story, and it always has you thinking what's coming next? Is Janzen going to turn out for the better? It always has you questioning.  I like that when reading a book. My recommendation to people is if you like getting questioned a lot. If you want to feel emotion and power into yourself i would read this book. Also it will give you a good laugh once or twice.   After Janzen decided that she was sick for hurting other people, and that her best friends and family told her that she needed to get help, she finally did. All of her family and friends backed her up and supported her. Honestly i would too, after being married for 15 years, with no kids and being dumped just like that? Emotions were all over reading this book. I Definitely recommend this book to all who love relationships of the book, and love reading about overcoming problems.  Mennonite in a little black dress by Rhoda Janzen is a very great book to choose because it persuades people to do better in life. It makes a difference in people's lives.
