A Tale Dark & Grimm
“A Tale Dark & Grimm”, by Adam Gidwitz is a twisted fairy tale. Hansel and Gretel are brother and sister who have to go through many obstacles in this story. As they go on, they try to find a new family/parents, because they had a difficult life before.
Come follow a brother and sister as they walk out their story and also into the wild, where there is magic, terror, and a bit of humor. It might be frightening, and it’s certainly bloody. They learn the true story beyond the bread crumbs, edible houses, and outwitted witches. Hansel and Gretel learn to take charge of their destinies to live happily ever after.
In addition, the setting mostly takes place in a town called “Grimm” that is where Gretel and Hansel grew up. The themes of “A Tale Dark & Grimm”, is don’t jump to conclusions or else bad things can happen. Also, teamwork is key because if you don’t use teamwork you will get to nowhere.
I like this novel because it is so powerful and it uses figurative language very well. The author’s tone is one of the best parts of this book. The author for sure achieved the purpose of this book he achieved his purpose by twisting it, but also by showing how you need your family.
I would recommend this book because it is scary and interesting. You could never predict what was going to happen next. Adam Gidwitz talks to you about the book while you are reading it. It is a lot of fun to read, so why don’t you read it now?
