This book called Carter Finally Gets It and it is by Brent Crawford. The genre of the book is realistic young adult fiction. The book is about a teen named Carter who goes through his freshman years looking for love. He is on the football team and has a bad stuttering problem when he talks to pretty girls. He is the good child in his family because he has only one sibling, Lynn, made their parent’s lives miserable and a living hell.

The story is about Carter’s life during freshman year and he goes through tough time and good times. In his first year of High School he starts off with going out with this girl from his Elementary school that he thought was ugly back then, but now they are smoking hot. He is on the football team and is the kicker. At first, when he joined he liked the gear and that's all, after that he got just a little tired of football.

The author uses first person view and I really like it because it tells us only about what Carter knows and how he feels about other characters in the story. The mood he set was very entertaining because to me it made me laugh a lot because how he made the characters act. I really enjoyed this book because it made me laugh a lot and I honestly didn’t want to book.
