Published in 2012, The Fault in our Stars by the well known young adult author John Green is a heartwarming and heartwrenching novel. In it's pages Green portrays the realistic fiction story of Hazel Grace Lancaster through her journey with stage four Thyroid cancer.

Now at, 17 years old, Hazel spends her time watching America's Next Top Model, rereading her favorite book and almost anything that keeps her inside. But after a new diagnoses of clinical depression her mother fears Hazel is losing herself in her thoughts of dieing. Due to the doctor's orders and mother's instinct Hazel is sent to a support group where she meets new people that might change her life forever.

"Cigarettes only kill you if you light them. And I've never lit one. It's like a metaphor, see: you put the killing thing right between your teeth, but you don't give it the power to do it's killing." John Green writes in many metaphors including this one to deepen the meaning and over all message of his book.

Although The Fault in our Stars was only published three years ago, it has become one of the most read young adult books and was the number one New York Times bestseller. I, like many others, recommend this novel to anyone for it's rollercoaster ride of emotions. This novel will take you on an emotional journey you will never forget.
