James Patterson and Maxine Paetreo’s book Confessions of  a Murder Suspect, is an edge of your seat murder mystery, it keeps you wondering what’s going to happen next. In the novel the main character Tandy woke up one morning with a knock on the penthouse door from the police. She had no clue why they were there until the officers told her that her parents were dead. When Tandy went to go look into her parents bedroom she saw (quoted from the book)“Their sheets and blankets were on the floor, and their nightclothes were bunched under their arms, as if they tried to take them off. My father’s arm looked like it had been twisted out of its socket. My mother was lying face down across my father’s body, and her tongue was sticking out of her mouth. It had turned black.” Then the officers talked to all the people in the house including Tandy, Harry who was Tandy’s twin brother, Hugo who was Tandy’s younger brother, and Samantha who was Tandy’s mother’s assistant. The officer said that everyone in the room was a suspect. The thing is it there was a good chance it could have been any of them because their parents were never really parents they were just there. They never said I love you which could have made the kids possibly want to kill their parents. There was one more possible suspect which was Tandy’s older brother Matthew who didn’t get along with his parents very well, but he wasn’t wasn’t at the penthouse the night his parents were killed. Now it’s Tandy’s turn to help solve the murder mystery.

This book was a very good book, and I would definitely recommend to read it. It doesn’t have a lot of action but the suspense in the story makes up for that. The author writes in a way to make you want to keep reading and not put the book down. He writes the story in first person as if Tandy was actually talking to you. Also there are certain chapters in this book titled “confession” where Tandy goes more into detail about her messed up family and all her family secrets. Personally my favorite part was the confessions because I was able to understand all the crazy things that happened to Tandy and her family.

I agree with it... though the second one is not as good (in my opinion obviously).
