Confessions of a Murder Suspect is a fictional mystery story about the murders of Malcolm and Maud Angel.
Tandy Angel is shocked when her parents, Malcolm and Maud, are found dead in their bedroom. The police are positive that they were murdered, and everyone who was in the house, including Tandy, her brothers Harry and Hugo, and Maud’s assistant Samantha, are suspects. Tandy does not trust the detectives, so she decides to do a little research of her own. What she finds reveals many secrets that Malcolm and Maud had kept, and along the way, she makes confessions to the reader, so that the reader can piece together their past.
The book is a very interesting mystery, that keeps you at the edge of your seat. The author’s writing style can be confusing, because of the references the narrator makes at random times, however, it really helps the reader to sense Tandy’s feelings, and gave her a personality and a voice. The writing style also added to the suspense of the story. The book also has an important theme, which is that family is very important, and also to not give up. I really enjoyed this book.
