The Family Romanov (by candace fleming) tell the story of tsar Nicholas the second (bloody Nicholas) and his family. His daughters Olga, Tatiana, Marie, and Anastasia, his only son, Alexei, and his wife Alexandria. The way the book I written I think that it is interesting, but sometimes dull and boring. At some points it is interesting, such as when the tsar goes to command the Russian army during world war one. But at others it is drawn out and dull, such as when the author goes into too much detail describing dresses and rooms.

Essentially, they are rich, have a huge house, lots of servants, and basically everything they want. Then one day the peasants decide life sucks and go complain to the tsar. There was a large riot one day and a group of soldiers, determined to protect the tsar, they shot and killed multiple peasants. Convinced they the tsar ordered the attack, tsar Nicholas became known as Bloody Nicholas.
After that, a war with Germany (WW1) began. The Russians were the center of lots of anger.
         During the war the Russians had rifles  with no bullets, no coats or boots, and little food. They would have boots but, they get their  leather from Germany, the country they were at war with. During the war the peasants became untrustful of the German born queen. They thought she was a German spy. Eventually after the war the Russians made a new  government.
This book is O.K. I give it 2.5 out of 5 stars. I recommend it to anyone interested in history or Russia.
