I read the book "QB 1" by Mike Lupica and I really enjoyed this book. I would give this book 5/5 footballs! You’ll get to feel and know what Jake is, by the creative writing by Mike Lupica. This book was published by the Penguin Company in 2013.
The main character, Jake Cullen is battling Casey Lindell for the starting quarterback job at Granger High School. Jake is the younger brother of, hometown hero, Wyatt Cullen who's at The University of Texas. His dad was also a quarterback in the NFL before injuries. But Jake doesn't always feel that his father loves him as much as he does Wyatt. Casey and Jake split the quarterback position throughout the season. Then a girl comes along named Sarah. Jake and Casey both really like her and get into a couple fights. The fights are ended by Calvin, the really good wide receiver for Granger. In conclusion I really enjoyed this book because of how well Mike Lupica described Jake’s feelings inside his head.  The only far fetched part about it was that this little town in Texas has 4-5 players that are going to a big division 1 school on a full ride football scholarship. At least in Iowa the big 4A schools only sometimes have 1 if even that. Besides that I really liked the book!
