The Crossover, written by Kwame Alexander, is a heart warming story of two twin brothers, basketball, and the daily struggles that a family can go through.  This book shows you how things in life can easily go from good to bad extremely quickly.
As the star of the basketball team, Josh (Filthy McNatsy) Bell is one of the coolest kids in school.  Everything is normal to him until a new girl moves to school and takes his brother away from him.  His brother and his friends start losing trust in him.  Then odd, bad things start happening to his father.
Josh has to face many challenges he’s never seen before.  With the love of his father and the comfort of basketball, Josh finds a way to get through it all, even if it’s really tough.
I loved this book!  I could read it over and over again.  There aren’t a lot of books that really grab my attention, but The Crossover did.  I loved each chapter more and more as the book went on.  With its poetry like set up, it had a very fun rhythm.
I never wanted to set this book down!  I easily give this book a 5 out of 5 star rating.
Reading this book over again wouldn’t be a regret!  If you’re a person that likes sports books mixed with a little drama and emotion, read The Crossover by Kwame Alexander!
