"King of the Mound" by Wes Tooke. The book was published in 2012 by Simon and Schuster's Books for Young Readers in 2012. in New York

I read the book "King of the Mound" by Wes Tooke. This is easily one of the best baseball books I have ever read. This story has it all, a great story, great immersive characters, and it is about baseball, one of my favorite sports to play.Wes Tooke did a great job making this book a great page turner. I never wanted to stop reading this book.
This book is about this boy named Nick who got Polio and can't play baseball anymore. Shortly after Nick came home from the doctor with a cast on his leg Nick started working for the team that his father played on. This team was also home to the the legendary Satchel Paige, an amazing pitcher that never got to play in the major leagues because he was black. Throughout the season Satchel Paige keeps trying to tell Nick that even though his leg is messed up he should still pitch as well as he did before. I'm not going to say more, so if you want to know how this book ends read "King of The Mound" by Wes Tooke
While reading this book I had many times where I connected with the Nick. Like when Nick got nervous when he finally . With this great story you will easily be wondering "What will happen next?". Wes Tooke is the author of many other sports books. I would recommend this book to any avid sports fans. These are the reason I recommend "King of the Mound" by the astounding author Wes Tooke.
