The book city of bones by Cassandra Clare is action packed. Clary Fray thought she was just an ordinary girl who lived in New York City, but it turns out she’s the exact opposite. Her mom has been hiding from a world clary never thought existed. Clary is swept into Jace’s world (a shadow hunter she meets) and discovers the impossible happen. When her mom goes missing Clary dose everything in her power to find her but she also discovers some secrets her mom has kept from her but also uncovers secrets her mom didn’t know. Clary Fray is a girl whose world gets turned upside down. She never imagined the stories about vampires, werewolves, demons, and much more too actually happen.
The book starts off with clary Fray out in the city with her best friend. Clary decides to go to a club with her best friend Simon who goes to get them a drink once inside the club. There at the club clary notices a boy with blue hair slowly walk to an interesting looking girl. Clary slowly starts to follow them, then out of know where two boys emerged beside the interesting looking girl. The two boys start to punch the boy with blue hair, then one of the boys with blond hair takes out a large knife and kills the blue haired boy. In that second that clary realizes what’s going on she screams, but no one seems to notice that someone just died all everyone notices is clary screaming. Simon comes to clary’s side and asks what’s wrong and try’s to calm her down. The three people who killed the blue haired boy look up to her and run off out of the club.
The next day clary goes to a club with Simon because she just got in a fight with her mom Jocelyn. They go to this coffee shop where Eric (one of Simon’s band mates) reads poetry even though it’s not that good, that’s when clary sees the blond boy from the club last night. Clary tells Simon she will be right back. Clary leaves the coffee shop to go to the blond boy. They have an entire conversation when her phone rings, the second time someone tries to reach her she picks up the phone, it’s her mom telling her not to go home.

That’s how the book starts off, it’s an action packed book, with twists and turns in the plot this book is one of six books in the mortal instrument series. This is book one and I personally thought it was an amazing book.
