Throne of Glass
By Sarah J. Maas
Sharp tounged, quick as a whip, Celeana Sarthodien is an assassin, the best in Ardlan, except, very few know that she is a girl, even fewer know her actual age, she is 19 years old. Celeana has been caught and put into Endovier- a prison where she is a slave. She has to mine coal, with only a pick axe to help her. Then, brought out for a competition, to become the King’s Champion or to die trying, Celeana is now fighting for her freedom. If she can become the Kings Champion for 4 years, she will be free. Sarthodien is blocked though; by around 20 others who are in the competition to try to earn their freedoms too, if they don’t compete for becoming the king’s champion, they will be sent back to where they came from and most likely die.

Here, in the castle made out of glass, there is a dark force working against her and her other competition. Killing off the champions one by one, in the most dreadful ways, a strange woman coming to Celeana in her dreams. Two different men overseeing her in her training, will Celeana be able to win this deadly competition. To get the freedom she wants so badly?

Sarah J. Maas wrote one of the best books that I have ever read; a mix of the Selection series, and the City of Bones series. I would recommend the Throne of Glass to anyone who likes assassins, a bit of magic, and a huge adventure!
