The book "A Child Called It" is a must read for every teenager, or middle schooler. This is a deeply moving book and it will make you appreciate what you get. Some kids in this world don't have it as easy as you do. David Pelzer himself had a rough life. And in this story he tells you about everything.
In the story a young boy who was not even 11 yet had a very, very rough life. This young boys name was David Pelzer. His mother horribly abused him, she wouldn't just hit him, but she would also mentally abuse and emotionally. Everyday after school his mother would stick her finger down his groat just to make sure he didn't eat that day. Some days if she was in a really bad mood she would make him undress all the way down Ito his underwear, and it's him in the stove top.
My opinion on this story is, it's a very sad book, but it also defiantly catches you attention. Once you start the book, you can't stop. When I first started reading this story I thought it would be kinda boring. I thought it would be nasty to read and especially knowing it actually happened to a human being. I know it happens to a lot of children today, could be happening right now. But my thoughts were wrong, when I read the book it was amazing. I even cried a little bit. It gives you a great amount of detail, not to much and not to little. This book makes me thank what I have in life, and be great full for everything.
When I first started readying this story it shocked me with what happened. How he was abused in just about every way you can think of. Everything in this story is upsetting. When I first started reading it I realized how bad his abusing was, I just wanted to jump through the book and smack the mother. Overall this is a great story. Don't think I'll read a better book, you should try it out sometime.
