Daughter of invention conflict opinion
In this story “Daughter of invention,”Julia, the author and also main character wrote a speech for her school.  Then proud of what she wrote, Julia decided to show it to her father.  While Julia's father was reading her speech he found Julia's speech disrespectful towards her teachers.  For that reason Julia's father decided to tear up her speech and make her start on a new one.
There were many ways the characters could have handled the conflict, causing a bad  or good outcome.  But I think that the way the characters handled this conflict was a good way.  The reason I think that is because Julia didn't do much about it, she did get mad but she  just decided to rewrite her speech again.  I think that was a good way of handling the conflict because if Julia decided to handle it a different way it would of caused a bigger conflict then there was.  One thing that would have caused a bigger conflict is if Julia decided to be violent.    In other words, if Julia decided to handle the conflict badly there wouldn't be a good solution to their problem.
There are many different ways, I would have handled the conflict to prevent further problems.   One way I would of handled the conflict is by first trying to talk it out.  Trying to ask and understand why he decided to rip the speech.  By doing that I will know what made the speech disrespectful towards my teachers .  Another way I would have handled the problem is by just not getting too mad and accepting that my speech was disrespectful and write a new one.  Also if I was the father I wouldn't had acted that way.  I would have not exaggerated over Julia's paper not being the way I wanted it to be.  I would have just politely told Julia that her speech was disrespectful and that if she could try to rewrite it to make it less disrespectful to her teachers, not taking her paper and ripping it into pieces.  Also after the father did end up ripping her speech he could have helped Julia rewrite a new speech.  Then in the mothers point of view, I could have  just talked to Julia's father to try to figure out what he found disrespectful in Julia's speech.  After finding out what was bad in Julia's speech, it would be easier for the mother to help Julia rewrite a better speech that her father would like.  Doing that will cause no problems after the main conflict.
In conclusion, the conflict in the story “Daughter Of Invention” Julia writes a speech and it gets torn in pieces by her father because he found it disrespectful.  In my opinion, I did not like the way the conflict was handled by the characters.  I think that because Julia worked very hard to write the speech.  Then to get it ruined by her father and not get any help from him.  All the ways I would have handled the conflict are stated in the paragraph above.  Some would be like her father helping Julia rewrite her speech or Julia talking to father about ruining the speech.  The ones stated are ways that the conflict would result in a better solution.  Leading the story to a better ending.
