The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerarld
By Gerardo O., Phoenix, AZ
The story is narrated by the main character Nick Carraway. Nick Carraway had just moved in to west egg where his cousin Daisy lives. He moved in a small house next to a mansion owned by an anomalous man named Jay Gatsby. As the story progresses he meets his neighbor and gets to know his cousin, who married a very rich man named Tom. Throughout the story he finds out that his neighbor and cousin once were together but they were separated due to the war. Him knowing this creates a lot of drama and adds to the theme.
A character that I was able to relate to was Nick because like him I am also anomalous. I also do not pick sides and am very neutral. He was the only character I could relate to.
The book over all in my opinion was very exhilarating. The point of view that the book gives you lets you see both sides of the main conflict. This let me choose which side I was on. This was probably my favorite part of the book.
I would recommend this book to someone who really likes conflict and lots of drama. This book is packed with all of that and even if you don’t really like drama I would still encourage you to read this book.
