Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson
Jim Hawkins is a young man at the age of 17. The Hawkins run the Admiral Benbow Jim eager to help. Until an old pirate captain appears with a map to the mystic Treasure Island. Quickly Jim is thrown into a high seas adventure upon the Hispaniolia. also on board are Captain Smollet, Dr. Livesey, Long John Silver the sea cook, and a motley crew. There is a ride of lies, betrayal, and mutiny. Until finally they arrive on Treasure Island.
Once upon the island Jim meets a castaway named Ben Gunn. Jim and Ben re-board the Hispaniolia to introduce this forgotten man to the crew; however, they are no longer on board. While this happens there is a great battle between the mutineers led by Silver, and the honest hands loyal to Captain Smollet. Several men are murdered but several survive. The remaining pirates (except Silver) begin their treasure hunt; whereas, Captain Smollet, Dr. Livesey, Ben Gunn, Jim Hawkins, and Long John Silver begin their journey home.
I enjoyed Treasure Island because of the realistic plot of mutiny and adventure. I would recommend this book to a mystery enthusiast not because it is mysterious but thebrilliant plans and shifty characters.
