Do you like adventure, romance and action? If so, this is the book for you!  It has been one of my favorite books, because it held my attention the whole time.  It has plenty of twists that make it interesting.  The novel is called Mortal Instruments; City of Bones by Cassandra Clare.  I think this is one of the must read books of the decade.

I think City of Bones would correspond to teens and young adults, because of the characters and content.  The characters are also teenagers, which helps the reader to relate.  I think the author did a superb job at describing the characters and conflict.  I also thought the novel had a great detail.  I think teens and young adults would really enjoy this novel.

The book was about a teenage girl named Clary who finds out she's a shadow hunter (a human-angel hybrid that fights demons).  When Clary's mom, Jocelyn, goes missing, she turns to her new found friends and shadow hunters for help  Their names were Jace, Isabelle, Alec and her best friend Simon.  They join forces to help stop the villainous Valentine.  In my opinion, Cassandra Clare did an amazing job at creating this new world.  Cassandra Clare also did an excellent job at describing the characters emotions and personalities.  I could truly feel the characters through her words.  I thought the novel was very creative.

I thought the story's events were well organized.  The characters seemed realistic and I felt as though I knew them.  I liked almost everything about the book.  Even though it has a slow beginning, it gets more interesting toward the middle and then I couldn't put it down.  The author kept me wanting more.  As I mentioned before, it has a lot of twists and surprises that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

I loved reading this book and hope to finish the series.  I think this book would appeal to teens and young adults.  I know I couldn't the book down and hope that others would feel the same.  In conclusion, I thought this was a four star novel.  I would highly recommend it!
