The main Characters in this story is Sienna’s dad, Mr. Jones, Vera, Uncle Tom, Deni, Spider, Elli, and her best friend Bev. Sienna has hard times trying to deal with the loss of her mother three years before her 15 birthday in a plane crash over the Indian Ocean. As nightmares and fears of the ocean and riding planes haunts her, her father asks her to join his International relief team for two weeks, to help tsunami orphans survive with their losses. Sienna thinks her dad is crazy for asking her to go somewhere on a plane. But wanting to go help, wins over her fears, as she makes a long frightening journey to Yogyakarta, Indonesia. What Sienna finds there is the most handsome boy she ever met who was Deni. Deni is mysterious and brooding. Everything about him is exactly what Sienna finds charming. Their relationship is instant and true love, so when he hears word that his father may have survived the horrible tsunami after all, Sienna doesn’t hesitate to run away with him to the epicenter of the tsunami disaster. Sienna knows about the kind of hope that’s driving Deni, and Sienna wants to see him through whatever he’ll find back at home. Sienna knows they are taking a huge risk, but Sienna doesn’t expect that what they find might break both of their hearts. About the author, Heidi R. Kling earned her MFA in writing from the New School and a BA in literature and creative writing from UC Santa Cruz. She has written and dedicated children’s theater in California and New York and has guest lectured at Santa Clara University. Sea is her first novel. She lives with her husband and two children in Palo Alto, California, just over the coastal mountains from the sea. This book will want your attention that you will be able to finish it in one day.
