The Lost Hero is a story by Rick Riordan. It is about a boy named Jason Grace. He wakes up on a school bus unable to remember who or where he is, or anything about his past. He is sitting next to Piper McLean and Leo Valdez, who know him by his name Jason. Piper claims to Jason that she is his girlfriend. Leo claims to be his best friend. All three of them are part of a class field trip to the Grand Canyon. When they arrive their classmate Dylan turns into a Venti (Storm Spirit) and attacks them and their teacher, Coach Gleeson Hedge. During the fight Jason's golden coin turned into a sword and he uses it to fight the storm spirits. Coach Hedge turns out to be a satyr. The spirits captured him as they were escaping. After the fight, a flying chariot appears to save the three, but one of the people in it (Annabeth) is upset when she discovers that her boyfriend (Percy Jackson) who mysteriously disappeared is not there as she expected. Annabeth was looking for Percy, she was told in a vision from the goddess Hera to look there for the "guy with one shoe", but this turns out to be Jason, who lost his shoe during the fight. Jason, Piper, and Leo are told that they are demigods and are sent to Camp Half-Blood where Greek demigod children are protected from monsters and beasts. At the camp, the god Hephaestus claims Leo. Piper is the daughter of Aphrodite and Jason is the son of Zeus. Hera constantly tells Jason he is her champion through dreams and visions. Jason finds out about his sister (Thalia Grace). She's the demigod daughter of Zeus and became a hunter of Artemis. Shortly after they arrive, they are given a quest to rescue Hera. They discover that their enemies are working for Gaea to overthrow the gods. Thalia never seen Jason in a long time. Thalia told Jason he was captured by Hera when he was an infant. On the way to Aeolus's castle, Jason, Piper, and Leo become separated from Thalia. She tells Jason she will meet them at the Wolf House. That was the last place Thalia had seen Jason before Hera took him. After almost being capture by Aeolus, who was following Gaea's command, the three of them end up escaping thanks to Mellie, Aeolus's former assistant. They end up in a coffee shop in San Francisco, thanks to a dream Piper had with Aphrodite, her mom. After landing in San Francisco, the three of them rush to Mount Diablo to fight the giant Enceladus, who captured Piper's father, Tristan McLean. They are able to kill the giant with the help of Zeus. He sent down a big thunderbolt to strike the giant and save Piper's father. After the fight they rush to the Wolf House to free Hera. This book made me excited because there was a lot of action and adventure throughout the book. I suggest reading this book because it never gets boring and it would have you excited to read the next page.
