I recently read The Fault In Our Stars, a realistic fiction novel, by John Green. I enjoyed that there was a sense of reality in the novel, even though that meant sorrow and suffering for the reader. Through the sadness this novel is filled with quite a bit of humor, romantic gestures, and excitement.

The Fault in Our Stars is a glimpse into the life of 16 year old Hazel Grace Lancaster, a stage 4 thyroid cancer patient whose cancer has spread to her lungs. Depressed, Hazel's mother forces her to go to a support group where her feelings towards herself and life are brought to a new light when she meets and falls in love with leg amputee, Augustus Water. Augustus is a charming 17 year old osteosarcoma survivor. The novel dives into Hazel and Gus’s relationship, or has Hazel would call it, “their little infinity”.

This novel was, in my opinion, fantastic. I never wanted to put the book down because my interest was always kept. I would recommend this novel to anyone willing to read about this heart wrenchingly beautiful story. The Fault In Our Stars shows that love always finds a way. The moral of the story might seem cliche but I assure you, you have never read about a love story like Hazels and Gus’s before.
