Summer Ball is a book written by Mike Lupica. It is a book intended for teenagers or elementary school kids who enjoy sports, specifically basketball. Personally, I loved this book. It is a fiction book, but very much real. It was very easy to understand and it hooked me from the start. This book was easy to relate too, and unlike many books, I was able to enjoy it.

This book was about a boy named danny who is about to be a teenager. He is a very good basketball player, competing in last years “finals”. As a point guard Danny was the leader of the team. Although he was the smallest, he could compete with the biggest. The summer comes along and he and his friends attend a basketball camp. Things were going relatively good until a boy he played in finals is put on his team, and his team being the hardest worked. He had to push through injuries, wanting to go home, and being treated unfairly. He had to adapt to his situation and do the best he could, and thats exactly what he did.

Like I thought from the beginning, this book was a great one. It is a life like book which made it simple to relate too. I could picture myself as Danny in this situation, just like many of you who have read/will read this book. From my appeal of basketball, this book was one that I would recommend to virtually everyone. I would rate it a 5/5. This book taught me that if you stick things out even though you really dont want too, you can have an overall good experience, and be pleased with your choice.
