Witch and Wizard The Gift by James Patterson and Ned Rust is, as you could say, a very interesting and original book, but not one that you should consider reading. This fictional book I recently read was not good at all. This is the second book in this series and it is the continuation of the first book, therefore it is pretty repetitive and unentertaining.

In this book there is a ruler that is attempting to take over the world. He tries to prevent “Magic” from taking control of the government and the societies people, when he is the actual dictator attempting to, and actually, killing people. The two main characters Whitford and Wisteria Allgood contain magical powers which “The One” believes have special gifts. Whit and Wisty go on an adventure to try and stop this ruler and or escape from his grasp, as they try to save their friends and their town from “The One’s” wrath.

After reading this book I was left confused and unsatisfied. This book felt like it was trying too hard to be Harry Potter; With the fact that it involved wizards, a war, and a crazy and threatening Antagonist. This book also seemed to only suit teenagers, those of which have or have not already read books involving witches and wizards; When in the first book it gave the impression that this series was for people of all ages.

I would not recommend this book to anyone, even if they already read the first Witch and Wizard book. This book had a few interesting moments, but these events ended up leading to something unintriguing and boring. Overall, this book was repetitive, drawn out and not pleasant to read, and with that, I would not suggest reading this book.
