If you want to read a book about life situations, drama and love , you should read Brothers In Arms from the Bluford High series. The author of this book is Paul Langan. Paul was born in Philadelphia in 1972 . He lives in New Jersey where he graduated and went to college . He attended public schools and later worked on variety of jobs. This Book is realistic fiction. Martin Luna gets in trouble with gangs. His small brother gets shot by a bullet that wasn’t meant for him. Martin Luna was very sad. His mother tries to take him away of the streets from the bad influences, and to put him in the correct path but it’s Martin choice !
The most amazing part of the Brothers In Arm is at the end of this book when Martin regrets being in gangs and tries to get out of the streets for his mother and his dead brother. But for Martin, it wasn’t easy because all of his friends knew where he lived even though his mom moved from the bad neighborhood for him to change. Along with that came this hispanic girl that Martin liked, whom had a nice shaped body and long curly hair. This girl was special to him, and she also made him change. In my opinion this book is the most interesting book from the Bluford High series because it shows you a good life lesson. Don’t take for granted what you have because when you lose it you will regret it ! Also this book has drama about real life, such as how kids and teenagers enter gangs because of the bad influence they are hanging around with. What I like about this book is that it relates to the real world in the hood ,even though it was made up. I would recommend this book to other teenagers that like books that shows life lessons and to people who like tragedy.
