It started with a little Christian boy coming home from school, 8-year old, Bruno has just arrived home when he realized that his house almost looked.. empty. It is covered with sheets, and he found his maid packing his things. Thats when the news came.

Bruno lives in a very tough time period which caused many things to trigger in his mind. The longer Bruno was at his new house he started to wonder why he was there and what he was going to do, he decided to go to the fence, the forbidden fence. This fence is posted all around the world containing certain people who have lost their rights, people who believe in what they think is right. The book “The Boy in the Striped Pajamas” will explain how and what that fence is.

The person who is causing all this mess is a man named Adolf Hitler, he made Bruno move, not to a camp but to a deserted place just a couple blocks down from that horrible camp. He is not a pleasant man, killing more than 6 million people.

The author, John Boyne, does a great job at foreshadowing, he also makes you feel the emotion that Bruno feels causing you to shed some tears and giggle your heart out. This book teaches you many things such as friendship, hardship, and to follow your heart. I would say that this book is a good short read that will teach you things while as entertaining you without you even knowing it, I would suggest that this book is read for people 13 and older because it uses lots of descriptive words. Also If I were you I’d expect many things to surprise you because you will be amazed at how terrifying these things could be. This book will seal your eyes on to it, be aware to be busy reading!
