Have you ever wondered what it would be like to wake up in a dark room knowing nothing but your name? What if you woke up with a bunch of people looking at you? What about being called strange words by strange people? And what about not knowing why you are in this massive maze? After reading this book you could probably answer these questions
After reading The Maze Runner I found that it was one of the best Dystopian Novels I have ever read. This book was also filled with many plot twists that were significantly suspenseful. Throughout the book I found that the theme was always in use and is the strength of the book. The theme is teamwork and I feel that at any moment in the book the theme is being expressed.
I feel Dashner’s vocabulary is also one of his strengths throughout this novel. If he has used a word he always finds another word to replace it. One of Dashner’s weaknesses in my opinion is the length it takes to develop and give information about characters. Many of the characters in The Maze Runner were developed over a longer period of time than most books. Take Chuck for instance, he was portrayed as being innocent and basically represented it, though it was developed over a period of time throughout the book, then was finally revealed near the end.

I would give this book a 4 out of 5 because I thought it was a bit slower paced book than I like, but I liked the theme and overall plot of the book. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves suspenseful Dystopian Novels.
