The book the Scorch Trials is an action packed sequel to the Maze Runner. The story picks up from the first book when they are rescued and now have to face another trial by the creators known as Wicked. Wicked has offered the survivors a cure to the disease which they all have been infected with. To receive the cure for the disease the survivors must make it through a series of trials. They have to walk many miles to reach a set of mountains where the safe zone is located. As they travel through the blazing hot sun that burns there skin within minutes they are faced with ferocious creatures known as cranks. These creatures are hungry to eat them and they have no weapons but their bare hands.

The Scorch Trials has very good clarity all throughout the book. The book is extremely easy to read and it is very well written. James Dashner , the author, does a great job by creating intense visuals in the readers mind. This novel is extremely easy to understand and you never have to re-read or go back because of how clear the story is written. This novel does a great job in having the readers mind escape from reality. In this novel you feel like you are in the story with the contestants fighting for your life through the outrageous journey to reach the safe zone. Imagery is abundant right from the start and the novel allows you to loose sense of reality and escape to the environment of the book.

In conclusion I recommend this novel to anyone who is looking for an enjoyable read with action and drama. This novel is extremely easy to read and the thrill is unreal. This is a great novel for those who want to read a quality book with never ending drama and suspense. I really enjoyed reading the first two books and now I’m off to read the third and final book.
