Riveting, Exciting and Impossible to Put Down

Divergent by Veronica Roth is a modern take on society, action and government. When compared to The Hunger Games, Divergent is faster pace and thrilling. The main character Beatrice, along with all the other sixteen year olds in their dystopian society, must pick which faction they would like to live the rest of their lives as. She is currently Abnegation but decides to choose the complete opposite, Dauntless. The Dauntless are known as the brave ones. This decision will change her life forever. Beatrice rises up to all of her challenges and becomes what no one ever thought she could be, a strong willed and brave Dauntless. Divergent is an easy read and you will find yourself not wanting to put it down. Right from the beginning, the author takes you on a journey that allows you to escape from reality and feel like you are living the character’s exciting lifestyle. This story is nothing like my every day life but that is why it is so intriguing to read. The intricate detail Roth put into Divergent is what makes it so easy and fun to read. When reading Divergent, you will never feel lost or confused. The consistency of the book brings attention to the story. Although I enjoyed the book, my personal beliefs were not always represented the way I would have liked them to. The characters try to do what is best for them and each other but they do not always make the correct moral decisions. Divergent makes you think but it also allows you to get lost in the thrill of the story. If you read this book you will find yourself at the edge of your seat, rooting for Beatrice every step of the way. I highly recommend this book to everyone because of the joy and excitement it gave me!
