“I fell in love the way you fall asleep. Slowly, and then all at once.”

The Fault In Our Stars
John Green
Young Adult Literature

This book’s protagonist is Hazel Grace Lancaster, an average teenage girl. The only thing stopping her from going out like all of the other teenagers is the fact that she has cancer. There are many main settings - Amsterdam, the cancer support group, and Augustus’s house. (Another very important character) The main conflict of this book is, like I already stated, her cancer.

I loved this book. It is definitely one of my favorites. It’s a sad book, - I don’t know anybody who hasn’t cried while reading it - but the whole idea and story is very sweet and enjoyable.

I would suggest this book to any middle schooler to high schooler who is willing to take the time to read a bittersweet book that will absolutely change your life.

When you see somebody with cancer, they’re not just “somebody with cancer”, they have a story, just like you. So don’t just go around judging people, because you never know what they have been through.
