Pirate Latitudes by Michael Crichton
This was my first book by Michael Crichton and I have to say I toughly enjoyed it. I find the subject of pirates to be very interesting to me. The book Pirate Latitudes is set in 1665 and is based on Captain Charles Hunter, and his quest to find Spanish gold. He is privateer, which in my opinion is legal piracy. With approval given from the governor of the Jamaica colony he and his crew are to set off for Mantanceros, home to the bloodthirsty Spanish commander Cazalla. There they hope to find treasure last a man a life time, or will betrayal cut them short of their ultimate goal? This book is a fascinating tale of action, lies, and trickery. I recommend this book for anyone who loves adventure. To conclude this book is an amazing work of historical fiction, and a must have for anyone seeking adventure.
