I read the book "Life as we knew it" by Susan Beth Pfeffer. It was published by Harcourt, in 2006. The book has 352 pages. It's genre is science fiction. This book shows the suffering of a family when a meteor hits the moon. This is a fantastic written book, I really love it and I would love to read it again.

The setting of the story are on Pennsylvania. The main character of this story is Miranda. She's 16 years old and live with her mom and hers younger brother Johnny. Her parents are divorced. This book is about how everything goes wrong in a family's life after a meteor hits the moon.

This book did really achieve the author's purpose. It's also powerful because Miranda is suffering. The strength of the book are when it's Miranda's birthday and they get the food from city hall. They had hope that everything will be ok. The way the book ends is a weakness because the author didn't said what happened to the family. The story is not only about survival it's also about a family's love, helping, opening arms to each other and caring. That's why I know you should read it.
