The book That Summer was written by Sarah Dessen. She is also the author of Along for the Ride, Just Listen, Lock and Key, and many other great novels. She was born in the 1970s and was always spending her time in the Chapel of State Hill in North Carolina. The novel “ That Summer” was sold after graduating three years later in 1996. Sarah Dessen has a very unique writing style that is loved by many.

That Summer is a young adult novel, which takes place Lakeview. Lakeview is a small town where the characters are growing up at. The main characters are Haven, Havens sister Ashley, Lydia, Ashley’s old boyfriend Sumner, Havens mother, father, and Ashley’s fiancé Lewis. Haven has always been a girl who went with the flow. Haven is having family drama. Her parents are also having problems as well and which has led to divorcement. Havens Father has been working as a sports caster with a special one of a kind weather girl. Could things get series between them?

Before the family drama, Ashley dated many men and could one come back and change life as we know it? Sumner is back into Ashley and Havens life forever.
