The Truth about Forever was written by Sarah Dessen. Sarah Dessen grew up in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She attended UNC-Chapel Hill and graduated with highest honors in creative writing. Sarah graduated with a degree in English. Three years after graduating she published her first book, That Summer. Sarah Dessen is the author of many other novels, including Someone like You, Just Listen, and Along for the ride.

The Truth about Forever is a teen fiction book. It doesn’t really say where it takes place, but I do believe it takes place in the south. I think it takes place in the south because everywhere the characters go it’s always flat land. Some of the characters are, Macy Queen, Deborah Queen, Caroline Gone, Delia, Kristy Palmetto, Monica Palmetto, Wesley Baker, and Bert Baker. Macy is the protagonist, and she is a very nice girl, but she can be very shy too. Deborah Queen is Macy’s mother, and she is sometimes very rude.

One morning Macy’s father woke her up to go running in the neighborhood. It took her a few extra minutes to roll out of bed. But, when she got outside she saw something that changed her life forever. Afterwards she tried to forget about her past and not talk about it. So, she always hung out with Jason. Jason was the really smart guy who worked at the library. Macy and Jason dated for the whole entire school year. Jason was going to brain camp this summer, and the only way Macy could talk to him was threw email. Well, a few weeks into summer Macy ended one of her letters with “I love you”. Jason wasn’t the type of person who liked that, so he told Macy that they should go on break. Macy was kind of sad, but she was more upset about the fact that she had to work at the library.

Macy didn’t think her summer would include a job as Wish Catering. She also didn’t think she would meet a guy like Wes. Macy grew closer a lot closer to Wes than she ever thought she would. Then her sister came home and had a big idea! Her sister’s big idea was to completely remodel their beach house. While remodeling Macy’s sister comes across a box with Macy’s name on it.

I really enjoyed reading this book, because Sarah Dessen is one of my favorite authors. If you are a person who likes romance then I strongly suggest reading a couple of her books. Sarah has many other books that are even better than this one. Dessen is a great writer and her books are easy to follow and understand. I hope you liked my review, and if you read it I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
