Harlan Coben has won many awards including the Edgar award. He is the number one bestselling author from his fourteen previous books. His most famous series of books is the Myron Boltair series. All of his books are published around the world. He lives in New Jersey with his four kids and wife.
This book takes place in suburban New Jersey and down town Bronx. This book involves a lot of characters that all have their own part in the story and meet up at the end. The story mostly revolves around two main characters Adam and Mike. Although there are many other characters that play a major part in this story such as Jill, Tia, Muse, Nash, Guy, and Yasmin.

This story has many different conflicts that take place in this story. Adam is a fifteen year old boy who has gotten distant with his family who runs away because of a down low drug operation. While Mike Adams dad goes on a long and challenging quest to find his son. Along with Tia his wife and daughter Jill all have to face challenging conflicts. Yasmin Jill’s fourth grade friend has not been the same girl since their teacher mad a comment on Yamin’s mustache. After the incident her dad has wanted to get revenge on him so he can make his daughter happy again. Joe Lewingston has gotten into trouble because Yasmin mom has a video that could ruin his marriage and his life. Joe has sent his brother in law Nash on a mission to take that video and destroy it. In the process he kills two people just to destroy the video along with getting his partner arrested. Lastly Muse is a detective who is trying to solve the case of the murdered people Nash has killed. In all, all these stories somehow tie into each other making the ultimate mystery novel.

The theme of this story is never stop trying. If you keep trying you will succeed at what you are trying to accomplish. Mike searched for his son for day, but he never gave up. Always try and finish what you are doing. If you give up now you will quit on everything and everyone in the future.

Hold tight was a confusing but amazing book. The different point of views from the story gives it a unique twist. It was a very fun mystery novel to read. I would not recommend this book to kids because of how confusing it gets. Although this is the perfect book for teens and young adults. This has defiantly been the best mystery novel I have ever read.

Adam has been depressed since his friends suicide. His death was caused by being and being apart of a drug operation. The reason Nash was killing people because is dead wife’s brother got into trouble. Yasmin was the major cause his parents got divorced. Jill an Adam have had a close bond since they were young and Adam cannot ignore that.
