Catching Fire is the second book of the Hunger Games Trilogy. The story begins with Katniss and Peeta, Panem’s star couple, finishing their fight to death; being crowned the victors of the 74th Hunger Games. After a tour of the country, they reveal that they are getting married, but that doesn’t stop President Snow from letting the special and exciting 75th Hunger Games (The Third Quarter-Quell) from happening. Only this time, the special twist is that it is with victors of previous games trying to see who really is the best, but that means the only two victors from District 12 are going back. In this fight to the death for the second time, who really is the strongest victor? Will Katniss and Peeta live happily ever after? Because this time, only one can survive.
For the citizens of Panem, they don’t want to see their beloved victors die. Thats why the Mockingjay pin represents their new symbol of rebellion. This book was not only one of the best books I ever read, but it taught me, and hopefully you too, to stand up for yourself and never be afraid to rebel. You, as a person, should always stand up for your rights and what you believe is right just like Katniss.
Suzanne Collins and her amazing writing techniques will grab you to this heart-racing, hand-gripping, well-written book. The amazing story of a girl who fights for her freedom and the creation of a rebellion to show who you really are and that you are who you are. Always remember, “Every rebellion, begins with a spark.”
