Have you ever read that boring mythology book that tells you every little detail about every story in Greek mythology? Well, Rick Riordan's The Son of Neptune is nothing like that!
In his previous books he only included Greek mythology, but in this novel he puts a new twist and includes Roman mythology.
The Son of Neptune is the second in the Heroes of Olympus series, and like the first one in the series, The Lost Hero, I had a hard time putting it down.
It's a fast paced book, and it gives kids and teens the story of people their age who are heroes.
It starts off with the son of Poseidon Percy Jackson is in California. He is outside the Roman Camp for Half-Blood, half god-half human, and he has no memory of his past life except for his girlfriend Annabeth. His memory has been taken by the goddess Hera, or Juno.
With the help of his Roman friends Hazel and Frank he has to travel to Alaska in order to regain his memory and stop the rise of Gaea.
I would definitely recommend this entire series to someone--especially someone who has a love for old stories and mythology.
