Mockingjay

In her final book of the trilogy The Hunger Games, Mockingjay, author Suzanne Collins (Suzanne) delivers a fantastical world with vivid images. From this the audience will have an easy read and be able to visualize it in the readers mind. Suzanne Collins choice of words helps Katniss and her world to become more then just words on a pages. Introducing new characters and new settings could be confusing in other books but Suzanne Collins illustrates it in the complete opposite way in Mockingjay. The way Suzanne describes Alma Coin, district 13 president; the readers may actually feel as if one was an actually friend with her. Suzanne Collins illustrates this so well that the audience gets to know her appearance and her personality wonderfully to connect to her. Not just images are portrayed in Mockingjay it also exhibits smell and noises that happened during the rebellion. It creates the audience to hear and smell what is there or is going on. Especially when the bombs are going off while attacking the Capitol, such as the smell and the noise that the bomb had created. When Prim Everdeen dies an individual can experienced Katniss scream and her sobbing echo in ones mind as if it was on replay from how powerful that moment was.

Going into the final book of the trilogy readers may expect for Mockingjay to have a happy ending, but it is far from it. Even though Katniss ends up with Peeta, becomes the face of the rebellion, and fought for her freedom several things happened that she didn’t even know until the end. Katniss main reason to fight and go on as being the symbol as the Mockingjay was for Prim Everdeen, Katniss sister, to have a better life in the future. While fighting for the freedom and rights, Prim dies. Several other deaths occur in this book and will leave readers in tears. Katniss in the end accomplishes one of her big goals which is to kill President Snow but she was overall was manipulated even to killing him by Alma Coin (President Coin). President Coin had a plan all along that involved Katniss from the start and was the main point. When President Snow is slowly dying, Katniss figures out that President Coin from the beginning had a plan the first time they met and that it included Katniss loved ones, such as Prim.
