Secrets Lies and Algebra by Wendy Lichtman
Secrets and Lies and Algebra
By: Wendy Lichtman
Secrets Lies and Algebra is an awesome book. It can be found in either the realistic fiction or mystery genres part of the library. It is really intriguing because you want to know what happens in the event in the book, if it is true or false. It is a very different book with many different types of characters. It can have a very large variety of characters. You never know who is the good or the bad guy.
The main character of this book is Tess; she always solves her math and her life problems by using math. If I would have to rate this book on a scale of 1-10 I would rate it at about a 8 or a 9 because it is a really good book. This book is for the ages of 9-14. It is a perfect length for me and probably a lot of others.
A supporting character is Sammy, She is not really much of a friend anyway. She tells secrets and she also is a bit of trouble; you should look out for her. Another supporting character is Miranda; she is a pretty good freind of Tess. When they try to “figure things out” I feel like she is one of those girls who you can really count on with secrets. Tess’s mom also plays a role in the book. The whole book practically revolves around Rob and Nina. Rob is the “murder suspect” and Nina is the “victim”.
My personal favorite type of book is realistic fiction. This book has elements of realistic fiction such as: people murdering or committing suicide, the friendship or how the girls treat each other and the way the parents act. I also like mystery books. There is also lots of mystery in the story. I'm telling you this book has everything! This is a great choice for anyone really, I think it is especially for teenagers because the things that happen in this book a lot of teens can relate to (mostly girls). The title, Secrets, Lies and Algebra, actually tells a lot about the book. The book contains secrets, algebra and lies. You may never actually know what is a true statement and what is a false statement
What I can conclude about this book is that is it really good, entertaining, mysterious, and makes you want to read more about what is going to happen next. I would definitely read this book again. It was a very good choice. It is now one of my favorite books and you should try this book out!
