Losing Joe’s Place, by Gordan Korman, is a book for people who love reading realistic-fiction. This book is about Jason Cardone, brother of Joe Cardone. Jason wanted to use his brother’s apartment for the summer with his two friends, Don and Ferguson, while Joe was in Europe. The one thing that Joe made very clear to Jason was not to lose the lease to his apartment. So they get settled in and are having a great time living the city life. To start out they all have jobs at Plastics Unlimited, but that’s when Ferguson comes up with a plan for using robots instead of needing Jason and Don. So Don and Jason get laid off and are now jobless. The three boys are all chasing after the same girl, seeking jobs, and running the apartment- who knows what could go wrong? Then come to find from the lack of communication between Jason and Joe, a friend of Joe’s takes the car out for a couple days. That takes them on a wild goose chase! So do you think they can pull through and not lose Joe’s lease?
Jason Cardone is the main character of the story. He is the kind of person who doesn't like doing much work, is lazy, is sloppy, and just wants to have a good time, but as the story goes on he changes. So he is the dynamic character in the book, and the way he changes is when he loses his job he has nothing to do so he starts cleaning the whole apartment, cooking, doing laundry, and doing anything he can to tidy up, but all he was doing was running away from the fact that he needed a job.

If you need a book to read this should be the one. I say that because this is a really good book. What makes this a good book is that there is always something exciting going on. I don’t think there was one part that I didn't like. There was always a part where the book would just pull me in to read more. About every chapter there is a something hilarious to laugh about and something that is breathtaking, knowing from experience!

So, the book, Losing Joe’s Place, is really funny and is a good book for people who have a good sense of humor. It also stands for responsibility because it shows how Jason needs to get through the summer on his own without any adults to help. I say this because since their parents allowed them to go far away from home for the summer, with just the three of them it made it really stressful for Jason. They also let them him go off and work to pay for the rent, make sure they eat, and try not to lose the car or the lease. So obviously, this shows that it takes a great amount of responsibility to live by himself for the summer.
