The final chapter in a widely popular series as Christopher Paolini caps it off with his final book, Inheritance. As Paolini has entranced us before with his beautifully twisting story and description of his mystical land Alagaesia, he does it again with this last installment of the Inheritance cycle.
Inheritance continues the story right where the last book, Brisingr, left off. Eragon, now an adept and powerful dragon rider, is continuing to lead the charge in battle against the almighty, tyrant king, Galbatorix. Although Eragon and Saphira (his dragon) are renowned amongst all of Alagaesia as the world's heroes, he still has one more task to face before he can truly take that title. To battle it off, one on one against the most powerful opponent in the world.
Just like all of Paolini's other novels, Inheritance is a beautifully woven tale filled with details described to the tee. Every detail is intricately painted into the readers' mind and Paolini's creativity is endless.
I loved Paolini's books from the very start and his way of breathing life into a fantasy world just hooked me in. There are so many rich descriptions, cultures, and legends that it feels as if the world of Alagaesia is as real as any other. There is so much to love in the world of Alagaesia with magic spells, dragons, mythical creatures, and the good ol' middle age setting.
Although, Paolini's books are quite long and have many stories circulating at the same time within the novel, Inheritance is a great read. I would recommend this novel to anyone who loves adventure, fantastical episodes that leave you hanging on your seat, and a good scene of sword fighting and magic. With so much action and the thrill of experiencing the adventure with Eragon and Saphira, Inheritance will take you for a ride upon the wings of a dragon.
