Title of review: The Girl on Fire
Number of Stars(1 to 5): 4 out of 5

Introduction: Years ago, there were thirteen districts. Each one specialized in a good for the capitol. All was still until the thirteenth district, which specialized in nuclear weapons, decided to rebel against the capitol. District thirteen was destroyed. Every year since then the capitol has chosen one man and one woman, between the ages of twelve and eighteen, to fight to the death until one lone victor remained. This pageant was from there on to be known as the Hunger Games.

Description and summary of main points: In the ragged land known as district twelve, Katniss Everdeen wakes up early to sneak out of the limits of her district. She illegally hunts in the woods surrounding her home. Her best friend Gale Hawthorne meets up with her there with bread and cheese. Today is no ordinary day. Toady is the 74th annual Hunger Games. For the first time Katniss’s younger sister Primrose has her name in the reaping. Prim has been fearing this day and so has Katniss and her mother. As the time comes for the reaping Prim’s name is called. Katniss quickly volunteers. As the name is called for the boy, it is Peeta Mellark. As the two are whisked away, the fear of what is about to happen, hits them.

Evaluation: This book takes you through an adventure and has many twists and turns. If you are into romance adventure then this is the book for you. The Hunger Games is written by an amazing author, Suzanne Collins. She keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time. I couldn’t put the book down!

Conclusion: I don’t want to give away the ending to you, but this is a very well written fictional book. This is the first of a series of three books. The second book is Catching Fire, and the third is Mockingjay.

Your final review: This book is a 4 out of a possible 5 stars. It is a great book I highly recommend it to teens.
