Book Review Outline
Book title and author: Anything but Ordinary by Lara Avery
Title of review: To Begin and End with a Splash
Number of stars (1 to 5): 4.5

Introduction
Seventeen-year-old Bryce Graham was making the dive of her life when something went wrong. A deafening crack comes and blood is in the water. Bryce Graham is no longer a diver in the Olympic Trails; she is a teenager who is in the hospital with a coma. There she sets in the hospital, asleep and unaware, as five years passes her by.

Description and summary of main points
When Bryce awakens, she still feels like she is seventeen, not twenty-one. The Olympic Trials, to her, were just yesterday. She could hardly consider them in her past. Yet, the years had gone by, and much had changed. Her little sister, who was only suppose to be twelve, stood before Bryce in the hospital room as a seventeen year old dressed in all black with lip piercings and obviously intoxicated. For Bryce, seeing her sister like this is one of the easier parts of waking up.

Bryce’s boyfriend from before the accident is engaged to Bryce’s old best friend, yet he still holds tight to his feelings toward Bryce now that she is awake. Another boy is after Bryce’s heart, though, and this one is a dark haired, tall medical student who had been watching her and her progress for years. All of this is surrounded by strange memories that Bryce’s mind is creating, some real, some not, that make a hot, burning fire run through her body, coming from her fantastic mind.

Evaluation
Personally, I found this book extraordinarily interesting. On top of that, the theme of the story intrigued me, and the drama in the book was interesting, but not overpowering. Sadly, the end has you crossed in emotions, because you don’t know whether to sob or smile.

Conclusion
Finally, I believe that this is a fantastic book, especially for girls. Honestly, I find this to be an interesting book, but I would mainly suggest forr teenaged girls. This book has a good bit of romantic flare, yet it mainly focuses on how Bryce is more than just average; she is extraordinary.

Your final review
In my opinion, I believe this book was a four to a four and a half star book.

The author's comments:
I truly enjoyed this book. It had me in tears in the end, and to this day I am still not sure if the tears were from happiness or pain.
