A Child Called It is a heart dropping and eye watering book. You would never want to put it down.

I have never cried during a book before but this book just totally touched my heart. A Child Called It is about David Pelzer as a child. David grew up with two other brothers but he wasn’t treated the same. When he was little his mother was the happiest person he knew, they would go to the beach and get ice cream but then his mother changed for the worst. David’s mother started to abuse him and made him go hungry. If David wanted to eat his brothers would have to leave food in their bowls that David had to clean up and he would get to eat that or if he threw up he would have to eat the chunks out of that. Every time David tried to get away his mother would act liked she cared and would try to find him. David’s mother treated him more like a servant than her child. She would make him clean the floors, sweep the floor, make dinner, wash dishes, and even do laundry. I know that kids do this kind of stuff but then he doesn’t get any benefit from this. His bedroom isn’t even warm; he was living in the garage.

I don’t know how David Pelzer could open his life to the people who would read this book because of how bad his life was. I know I would not have the guts to be able to open my life like that. This book made me think of the kids who get abused every day and have to go through such a bad life because I think the people who abuse little kids are just sick. I think you should read this book because it would seem like a fiction story but then you wouldn’t believe that this is actually a real story. You would most likely cry or want to puke during this book but it is really a great book.
