When Danny is told he is going to a summer basketball camp, he becomes excited. But when he gets there, things take a turn for the worse.

Danny Walker is the biggest star in Middletown…even though he’s the smallest kid in his small town. One reason why he does get things done on the court though, is because he has the biggest heart for the game in his town. That’s one thing his coach at camp can’t see.

In this book I think the Author accomplished what he wanted the message to be which is to “Never give up.” Mike Lupica provides a powerful book for kids who have been told they’re not good or tall enough at what they do.

Being the same situation as Danny, the book really interested me and surprised me on how similar our lives are. I really got hooked in the book when I found out his situation. I think Danny relates to most kids who are really good but their coach sees every flaw instead of the things in their game. I think the kids who have that problem should read this.
