The Rifle

If you are one who enjoys works set during the time of colonial America, then The Rifle, by Gary Paulson, is a good read. Cornish McManus is a man who is suddenly inspired to build what is called a “sweet” rifle that is finely crafted and more accurate than any other gun made before. Unfortunately, he must sell the rifle in order to start a new family with his new wife. The story continues on following the journey of the rifle down several generations of owners while Paulson keeps the idea that guns are not dangerous until they are in the wrong hands in mind. With its very intense description you will read through this book in no time.
