Have you ever read a book? I know a book you should read The Pigman by Paul Zindel. The intended audience for this book is middle schoolers. The genre in this book is realistic fiction.

The setting in this book is in New York. There is a bunch of characters in this story, but I’m going to only tell you about three, John Conlan, Lorraine Jensen, and Angelo Pignati. John is an anti-hero who wants to be an actor, Lorraine wants to be a writer or a psychologist, and her sensitive, analytical nature provides a counterbalance to John impulsiveness. Angelo Pignati is an elderly widower who has a vast collection of ceramic pig, John and Lorraine fills a void in his life. The rising action in this story is that John and Lorraine play this game where they prank call Mr. Pignati, and pretend to be a charity and get money. The climax is that Mr.Pignati has a heart attack, and goes to the hospital, John and Lorraine to watch his house. They have a party, Mr.Pignati comes home has a breakdown, John and Lorraine tells Mr.Pignati to meet them at the zoo. Mr.Pignati goes and finds out Bobo dies, he also has another heart attack.

The elements of literature it is a novel. The comparison to other books, it is unusual. You wouldn’t expect what is coming next. My opinion and explanation for this book is that everyone should read it. It is a genuine good book to read.

My recommendation to The Pigman is that even if you haven’t got the chance to read it, you need to go out and get it. Even though it is not my number in favorite, it falls as number two. My final statement is even if you think you know what is going to happen, you will be surprised, you still need it read it. I hope you will one day get to read it, and like it like I did.
