Vampire Diaries - The Return: Nightfall by L. J. Smith

I was never a big fan of L. J. Smith's writing but I used to find her books quite thrilling and spine chilling.

So far, this is her worst book.
Smith's writing is like a broken rollercoaster that slowly climbed to the top and became "New York Times number 1 best seller" but quickly fell into a bottomless pit with no escape.

Her book was unimaginably boring; the characters never move forward, just stay where they are making assumptions without actually doing anything.
The pointless "drama" is written like a cheap soap opera that wouldn't be broadcasted at any price!

Moreover, the book is poorly written. "Damon returned to the present" sound more like a "young writers" project for third graders rather than a book written by a "professional" middle aged writer.

In conclusion, L. J. Smith failed to impress us like she used to with a book that has far more potential as a good-night-story that would put you to sleep after reading no more than two chapters.
